OPEN SHOPS ON SUNDAY.

TO THE EDITOB. Sib, —l observed in your paper this last week that an action was going to be taken against a certain tradesman in town for keeping his shop open on the Sunday, blit I have not heard anything more about it. I was disgusted to see last Lord’s Day morning profaned in the same manner, opposite Barrett’s Hotel, and a so-called “Bobby” looking on with impunity. It is a disgrace to the city if such is to be permitted in this nineteenth century. “Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.” The’law was made for transgressors, so let it be used in this case, as it is just a stumbling block and a way of offence for our city youth.—l am, &0., Feb. 9. ALPHA.
