OUST 0.0. v. OXFORD 0.0. A match was played between the above Clubs on Saturday last on the ground of the former, and resulted in an easy victory for the Oxford team by an innings and 47 runs. Oust went first to the wickets, and were disposed of for 27. The Oxford innings closed for 98, leaving Oust 72 to get to save a one innings’ defeat, which they failed to do, 24 being the result of their second innings. H. Peary, E. Johnston, and G. Cooper bowled well for Oxford; the latter in the first innings of Cost obtaining four wickets for 3 runs. Oust batted two men short, but fielded 11. Lincoln Eoad.—A match .. .. was played on Saturday last, on Hagley Park, between the Springfield C.C. and Lincoln Eoad, which resulted in an easy win by the former, with two runs and five wickets to fall. Springfield made 21 in their first and 50 in their second innings, L.E.O.G. making in their first 51, and second 27, with five wickets to falL For the Lincoln Eoad, G. Dixon, A. Dixon, and Turner scored double figures iu both: innings, and P. Dixon bowled well, taking eight wickets for about 10 runs. For Springfield, Large did well, but the principal amount of work rested on Bow, who bowled and batted well throughout.
