THE WEATHER AT LEESTON.
A correspondent sends us the following;— nraveiept"fffsnyfecord of the vreather for the last six months for this neighbourhood, and l herewith' send you a record of it, showing days on which we have had rain, days fair, winds likewise. lam Sony I cannot afford to purchase instruments to show rainfall and strength of winds, likewise maximum and minimum of heat and cold. PerhapC the Government may be induced, to purchase instruments and allow them to be used by those like myself, who would be at the trouble to make two daily records. To myself it is a pleasure, for I take a great interest in these records, feeling as I do convinced that a great amount of information would result front them, and that they would in time prove to be of the greatest importainoe to the’ whole Colony, if persons were appointed, say at 30 miles distant from each other, to keep a ! correct record daily of kinds of wincis, diroction, force, &0., wet and dry days, frosty, Snow, Ac., therometer and barometer reading for each day, Ac. I may suggest that by ruling lines in the diary of the “Southern Provinces Almanac* 1 showing a.m. and p.m. readings daily, a record may easily -be lent without very much trouble $ but I would insist on its being kept correctly, otherwise it would be of no use, only leading to wrong conclusions. •
