Lyttelton Times Office, Friday evening. The Customs revenue collected at IChristchurch to-day amounted to £133 Is sd. The following were the items : Spirits, 138 gallons, 83J 8s 9d; tea, 601 lbs, 12*12*; cocoa, 336 lbs,4J4s; comsacks,6 bales, 11 6s 8d; hardware, 7 cwt 1 qr, 11 9s; other receipts, 25J 2s. The Customs revenue collected this day at Lyttelton amounted to £12916s lid. The Mowing were the Items : Spirits, 33 gallons, 19Z165; wine, 24 gallons, «16s; tobacco, 109 lbs, 13U2s 6d; fancy goods, lease, 12s; beer engines, 2 cases, 11 4s; light dues, 9s 7d: merchant shipping fees, 21 6s; pilotage, 241 Os 8d; harbour fees, 13? Os 2d; other receipts, 601, The sale of Mr Mallock's horses took place yesterday, at Mr Barnard's Repository. The lom King filly realised £75, Mr Webb being the purchaser. Scandal was bought in for £l5O, and Backbiter for £lB5, a private offer of £IBO for the latter having been refused.' This day, Mr Barnard will offer for sale probably the most important lot of horses which have yet been submitted at any of his annual Bales, comprising Belle of the Isle, Magenta, Omen, and many other winners and favourite cracks. ADELAiDB.-The Register of Jan. 3 reports : The market for cereals during the week has been very dull, and prices have declined, The excitement which prevailed a few days ago has quite subsided, The fact that two close holidays have taken place during the week, and that Tuesday was almost a holiday so far as business was concerned, may in part account for the dull state of the market. A foeling, however, has'gone abroad that the prices went up too quickly, and everything is now quieter. Flour may now be quoted at from £lB to £l9 per ton. Nothing has been done however, beyond supplying the local trade. Wheat is quiet, Nothing worth mentioning "has-been-done in old, and not much in new. The former may be quoted at 7» 3d. Good sample] of new wheat are worth 6s 6d per bushel, and would sell at that price, Bran is higher. Holders oilc U2d to Is 3d per bushel. Oats—Cape or white oats are worth about 3s6d per bushel. The Argus telegram of Jan. 4 reports ; The corn market is quiet; sales of old wheat have been made at 7s. Samples of barley hare 1 been exhibited in town, grown from Californian wed, which produced forty busheli to the acre.
