Sir,—Your sapient friend small " Censorious " would place under the care of the police the man' who tastefully trims his. gorse fences, and would condole with " the luckless wight who should drop red ashes from his pipe, or toss the end of a burning, cigar amongst inflammable material, which might set the half of Christchurch in a blaze." Funny little " Censorious !"■ don't you think it would be. more rational to.applaud the man who trims, his fences, and place in the hands of the police every smoker seen out of doors with " redhot ashes and burning cigars capable of setting half of Christchurch in a blaze ?" UPROARIOUS. Christchurch, Feb. 18. '' '
