Church Property Trustees. A-N adjourned meeting of the Church -c*- Property Trustees will be held on Thursday next, August 16ih, at noon, at the vestry of the Church at Christchurch, to receive important communications from the agent of the Canterbury Association, and for other business. SEVERAL Gentlemen interested in the U welfare, socially and politically, of the settlers in this Province, being deeply sensible of the advantages afforded by the Savings' Bank Institutions of the parent country, and adjacent colonies, are about to found a similar Bank in Lyttellon. The Lyttelton Savings' Bank will offer to the labouring- classes, servants, mechanics, tradesmen, and other persons, a place of safety in which to deposit their earnings, whilst, at the same time, the money thus lodged will not be uuremunerative. ■ Any suggestions as to the management of the. Savings' Bank, or the employment of its "Funds, will be .thankfully received by the Committee. '-Communications to be addressed to the Hon. Sec, Mr. Tdrnbe, at the Union Bank.
