The Lyttelton Times.
Saturday, February 3rd. We observe that the Standard implies that His Honor the Superintendent, had some share in the composition of our article of the 27th utt. It is scarcely necessary to say that the insinuation is utterly groundless. We must take upon our own shoulders, and bear as We best may the charges of levity, mockery, and insult! We have only to add, what we thought was very well known, that His Honor has no connection whatever with. the. Lyttelton limes.
As to the subject debated, we decline to repeat the arguments we have before ad. vanced, as we find that the Standard limits itself to a mere repetition of it^*s r . mer charges, without any attempt to sub. stantiate the legality of the claim, which with the help of "The Framer" it >( i Sas attempted to set up. vi
