SYDNEY.

The New Governor-General.—The Sydney Herald has the following:—Private letters by the Queen of the South, state that it was rumoured in well informed in London, that Sir George Grey, now Governor of New Zealand, who left Auckland by the Commodore, in company with the Bishop of New Zealand, on leave of absence, on the 31st of December last, was to be the future Governor-General of the Australian colonies.
