NOTICE. ~VX7~ E , the undersigned inhabitants of * » ChriiUclmrch, and its vicinity, earnestly request our fellow colonists to assemble in public Meeting on Tuesday evening, the 11th May, at 6 o'clock, at the White Hart Inn, for the purpose of considering tbe proposal originated by the Land Purchaser's Society, for constituting a General Society of all the inhabitants of the settlement, as a means of ascertaining at any time the opinions of the colonists on all matters of public interest. MUCH inconvenience and misapprehension having arisen from the practice of making verbal applications at the Offices of the Canterbury Association for the purchase of land and the leasing of pasturage, Notice is hereby given that all such applications must be made, either by letter, addressed to the Chief Agent of the Association, at the Land Office, Christchurch; or by signing the Applicant's name in the book kept for tbe purpose at the office.
