Weekly Market Report. Stronaoh, Morris and Co.. Ltd;, report for week ended Thursday, sth June, 1919, as follows:--Fat Cattle—-186 penned. Prime heavy bullocks sold at a slight advance while medium and light weights were on a par with last week’s values. Best bullocks £l9 to £2l 10s. extra to £23 7s 6d, medium to uood £ls to £l7, best cows and heifers £l3 lOs to £ls 2s 6d, medium to good £ll to £l3, others £9 10s up. Sheep—l9o4 penned. There were very few pens of prime quality sheep forwtrd, the bulk of the yarding being medium and light weights. At the beginning of the sale prices were on a par with last week’s rates, but as it progressed became firmer to the extent of Is to Is 6d per head on week’s values. Best wethers 43a to 495, extra to 55s 6d, medium to good 31a to 35s 6d, best ewes 35s to 41s, extra to 535, medium to good 25a to 295, others 22s up. Lambs—l 247 penned, Competition was keen and the yarding was cleared at prices in advance of last week’s rates.

Pigs—A medium yarding came to band for which there was good competition with prices on a par with lates rates. Stronach, Morris, & Co. Ltd, report for week ended Tuesday, 27th May, as follows RabbitskinsTOur next Sale will be held on Monday, 2nd June. Sheepskins—The Government are holding a valuation this week. Hides—Our next sale will be held on Thursday, 29th inst Oats—The market remains firm, although there is not a great deal of business passing, on account of the farmers eolding for bigger prices. Prime milling 4/2 to 4/4, good to best feed 4/1 to 4/2, interior to medium 3/- to 3/9 per bushel (sacks extra) Wheat Large consignments of wheat have been coming to hand of late, and millers will only accept lines in prime condition. Fowl wheat is in fair demand.

Potatoes—Owing to the removal of the export embargo the market has been more active of late, and prices have risen accordingly. There is a good demand for choice lines of tables. Quotations Best tables £8 to £8 10s, others £7 to £8 per ton (sacks in) Chaff—There is a good enquiry for prime oaten sheaf, which has not been arriving too freely of late. The bad weather we are experiencing at present should also be a factor in keening prices firm, Medium quality is also in better demand, and good feed lines meet with a prompt sale. Quotations: — Best oaten sheaf £6 5s to £6 10s, medium to good £5 10s to £6, other qualities £4 to £5 per ton (sacks extra).
