WANAKA NOTES.
(lake COUNTY press OORptSSPONDENx). The Weather.—The weather in this district during the past month has been all that could be desired. We have had occasional showers of rain and warm weather which has freshened everything up considerably. Business Changes.—Our local blacksmith, Mr James Perrow, has disposed of his business to Mr Theodore Russell of this town. It is the intention of Mr Russell to again sell or lease the business should he find a suitable buyer or tenant. This should be an ideal opening for an energetic tradesman as it is a large farming district. Mr Perrow was always kept busy. He now intends to devote all his time to his new business in the storekeeping line. Tennis.—Our local tennis club opened the season some 2 weeks ago : and a good muster turned out and a pleasant afternoon was spent The ladies provided afternoon tea, which was very much appreciated by those present. A tournament is now being held which will not be finished for a week or so. Good progress is being made with the asphalt court, con*, sidering the wet weather, under the workmanship of Mr Fraser. It should be completed in the course of 2 or 3 weeks.
