LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The monthly meeting was held yesterday Tho County Chairman was able i,to’ attend the meeting for the first time after his illness, and was welcomed back by the members. Permission was granted the Arrow) River Mining Company to form a new piece of road on the opposite side of the Billy. The following tenders were received for gravelling Arrow-Mncelown road : D. Mackie, £l7a6d; T. [Johnston, [£l 7s; E. O’Fee, £l 2s (accepted). A general discussion took place regarding the approach to the Shotover Bridge, but the Council decided to await the reply of Mr Furkcrt, District Engineer, before coming to any definite decision.
