LAND BOARD.

At the last meeting of the Otago Land Board the following business of local interest was transacted :

Brodrick and Chalmor applied, on behalf of T. A. Anderson and W. A. Bovett, for an o.r.p. license over section 5, block 11, Lower Wanaka district.—Granted at capital value of £1 per acre. Sydney Waide applied for an area of 100 acres on the settlement, block XII, Tarras district. —Application declined. Peter Muir applied for section 5, block XIII, Lower Hawea district, surveyed for Harold Connolly, who declined to take it up. —Declined.

Consideration was given to the following applications for areas on Cardrona commonage:—Timothy Enright, junr., 1000 acres— Declined ; J. R. Scurr, 1400 acres—Declined ; P. Galvin, 1000 acres—Declined. W. F. Cameron wrote on behalf of his wife with reference to her application for 400 acres, Morven Hills, Tarras district.— To he informed that application would be favorably considered on balance of deposit money being paid. The board was requested to determine as to how the following subdivisions of Morven Hills run, the license over which will expire on February 28 next, should be dealt with: —Run No. 237g, area 18,800 acres.—To be offered as s.g. run at 3s per acre per annum; valuation for improvements £144. Run No. 237h, 19,450 acres.— To be offered as s.g. run at a rental of 3s 6d; valuation for improvements, £lls 10s. Chas. H. Koch applied for an area of 100 acres, being part of the Glenorchy Commonage, block I, Upper Wakatipn district.— Application declined; Commonagh Committee to submit a statement of accounts for the year, and the number of stock grazed on the commonage. Mrs Mary Lynn applied for an occupation lease over an area of about 15 acres of the land at Bannockburn reserve for settlement. —Referred to ranger for report.
