Dr health officer, has complained to the Borough Council of the lax. manner in which many of the cases of scarlatina were allowed to move about. He requested the Council to have some clauses of the Health Act published. After considerable discussion the Council decided to publish the clauses. Mr A. G. Murray is leaving us, Messrs Wood and Scott having purchased his auctioneering business. Mr Murray will carry away with him the hearty good wishes of a large circle of friends. I am pleased to say Mr John Kane is getting about again. He is still on crutches. The Shine No 2 dredge is still on good returns. The Clutha River will for many a day to come yield up the golden treasure in payable quantities. Lambing has commenced in this locality.
