PERSONAL.

Mr E. H. Wilmot, chief draughtsman in the Hokitika Survey Office, has been appointed Chief Surveyor and Commissioner of Crown Lands for Southland, vice Mr J. Hay (deceased). Mr Wilmot was for many years Government surveyor at Queeustown. Mr F. W. Hart, who for the past six years and a-half has acted as clerk of court and mining registrar at Nascby, and who was in Queeustown for some time, has received notice of transfer to Ashburton, and leaves Kaseby about the end of the month. The memorial fund to commemorate the work of the Rev. R. Coffey, late vicar of St. Mark's, Wellington, closed at £-150. Tho Rev. Mr Coffey was, many years ago, Church of England clergyman in the Lakes District.
