That the Glenoichy district from one end to the other has been pegged off by diggers in search cf schoelite or other minerals. That no doubt Skippers and Maeetown will also receive similar attention. That a company has been successfully floated in Dunedin to work ground in the locality of Branch Creek, Cardrona, by hydraulic means. That operations will be commenced at once. That tha Lake County A. and P. Society's annual meeting on Saturday was attended by a large number of farmers—between 30 and 40. That apparently renewed interest is being taken in the Society. That a handsome nugget has been found in one of the claims in the Skippers district. That the professional football team has left New Zealand's shores. That the University team has won Otago's banner. That weasels are attacking young lambs in the Ellesmere district. That one farmer has lost several. That rain has fallen in Oamaru—before the rain-making operations commenced. That tho All Blacks match against N.S.W. ended in a draw. That the Canterbury grain market is quiet.
