Failla, Ihe famous brigand, who has succeeded the powerful Varsalone recently sent a letter to the Sicilian Journal, in which he proclaimed to the fanners of the land that if they did not pay the tribute demanded I heir cat lie would he destroyed. Money to pay for the insertion accompanied the Utter, and a few lines addressed to the editor apprised him of (he fact that if he refused to print (•'ailta's ultimatum he would be
killed. The letter appeared in the next issue of the paper.
