SAD FATALITIES.

A sad fatal accident occurred near Timaru to Mr and Mrs John Meikle, as they were returning home in a motor car. Mrs Meikle was driving, and in descending a steep pinoh the car went over the siding and Mr Meikle was thrown out and had his thigh broken, Mrs Meikle was pinned under the car and suffocated by the weight on her chest. Mr Meikle had to crawl with a broken thigh to give the alarm at his house.

Malcolm Mcßae, an old age pensioner, and inmate of the benevolent institution, was killed on the railway, near the Carisbrook ground some time on Friday night, evidently while making his way back to the institution.
