RUSSIA AND JAPAN.
Guns have been mounted by the French on Stonecutters island and Hong Kong harbor has been mined by the British authorities. The Russian Gazette, Moscow, calculating on Oyania's overwhelming force, predicts that though Kozhdesbvensky may be victorious, the war will bb terminated within a month. Linovitoh reports that on Saturday night two Russian forces attacking simultaneously, expelled the Japanese from five position;;. Three warships, supposed to be Japanese were sighted on Saturday off the Two Brothers Island, 150 miles S.W. of Capo St. James. It is presumed they were waiting for Diebogatoff. The steamer Stretton reports that forty ships of the Baltic fleet were in Koukohe Bay, Annum, on Thursday afternoon, preparing to proceed to sea.
