CORE. There was a large attendance at the Gore sale on Tuesday, when about 2,500 sheep were offered. The sale was very dragging, and prices were not up to what has been going lately. Fat Sheep.—These met with no demand at all, and most of the wethers offered were passed in at from 12s to 13s 6d. Hoggets brought 9s 6d, 10s 3d, 10s 9d, 11s, 11s 6d, and lls 9d. Old ewes sold for 6s 9d and 9s 9d ; 2-tooth wethers, 13s 9d and Us. Cattle.—Only 19 head yarded. September calving cows brought £5 10s, and yearlings £2 10s. CHRISTCHURCH. Fat Cattle. —There was a brisk sale at from 20s to 25s per 1001b. Special lines of steers brought from £lO 10s to £ll 10s; do heifers, £lO to £lO 10s; North Island bullocks, £lO 12s 6d to £ll 6s; prime steers, £9 to £10; lighter, £7 15s to £8 10s; prime heifers, £8 to £9 10s; lighter, £5 15s to £7 10s ; prime heavy cows, £7 10s to £9 12s 6d ; others, £5 2s 6d to £7. Store Cattle,—Yearlings sold at £1 8s ; yearlings to 15-months old, £1 IGs to £2 3s; 15 to 18-months old, £2 13s 6d to £3 7s ; 2yr old heifers, £4 5s to £4 15s; dairy cows, £3 10s to £8 5s Fat Sheep.—Export buyers were competing more keenly, and all classes of sheep sold at fair prices. Heavy wethers brought up to 26s Gd ; freezers, 17s to 20s 6d ; prime ewes, 16s to 17s 9d ; others, Us to 15s fid ; prime merino wethers, 15s to 17s Gd ; others, 12s Gd to Us Gd. BURNSIDE. Fat Cattle.—l 79 head yarded, but the quality was not up to the average. There was a good demand for good beef, which brought fully last week’s rates. Best bullocks, £lO to £ll 7s 6d ; medium, £8 10s to £9 IGs; light and inferior, £5 to £7 ss; best cows, £7 10s to £8 12s Gd ; medium, £6 to £7 ; light and inferior, £\ to £5. Fat Sheep,— 1,G22 penned, mostly wethers, fair to prime. The entry was no more than met the requirements of butchers, consequently there was an average advance of Is per head over last week’s rates. Heavy-weight crossbred wethers, 19s to 21s ; medium to good, IGs Gd to 18s; light Us to 15s 3d ; best ewes, 13s Gd to 16s 3d ; fat lambs, 10s Gd to 13s,
