WEEKLY MARKET REPORT. All quotations subject to market fluctuations : Our second sale 3 a thing of the past, and a full report appears in this week's Witness. • Home reports.are favorable Prices during the day ranged as follows : —Bright lustrous three-quarterbred, 8d to 9d ; au extra lot or two, to 9Jd ; bright crossbred and halfbred, 7fd to 9d ; heavy crossbred and halfbred, b'd to 7 $ I ; bright merino (light in grease), 6§d to for extra ; dark merino (.rick-stained, etc.), 5d to pieces, 4Jd to 7|d ; halfbred pieces, 4d to to s|d ; locks, ljd to 3d. Our next sales will be held on the 31st January. New clips are now coming to hand, and we arc ■ inviting our farmer friends to send us their •wool. We have joined the VVoolbrokers' Association, but our charges have not been raised. Crown Sheep Dip, 5s 6d per gallon in 5 gallon drum ; 5s in larger quantities. Wheat: Velvet i 3 scarce: velvet and Tuscan, 4s 3d to 4s 4d ; red chaff, 4s to 43 Id. Oats : Prime milling and bright plump feed 2s 2d to 2s 3d; ordinary feed, 2s to 2s Id. The market is easier. Barley: Taken tip for milling and feed purposes at from Is 9d to 2s 4d ; malting, if prime, 3s 3d to 33 6d, with improved demand and inquiry. Nelson hops, 7d to Bd. Flour, LlO 10s; oatmeal, I>ll 10s; pearl barley, Ll2; bran, L 3 15s ; pollard, L 4. Potatoes : Derwent3 hardly saleable ; new ■— liidnwjm (fin local), L - Chaff: L 3 103 to L 3 15s for prime quality, well-cut oaten sheaf. Pressed hay, £3 • to £3 sc; pressed straw, 35s to 40s. Ryegrass : Machine-dressed perennial, 3s 6d to 63 ; un- • dressed, small, snotty seed, 2s Sd to 3s; • ■ dirty lots from 2s to 2s 6d. Cocksfoot: Samples on application. Values range from 4-Jd to 5d for good sec-J. Extra heavy, sid per lb. Farmers' lots 3£d to 4d. Linseed, £9 to £9 10s. "We receive rabbitskins, hides, sheepskins, and tallow, and return highest market values. Hides wanted, at 2d to 2Jd per lb for good quality ; extra heavy, up to 3d. "Weekly sales. Cornsacks, woolpacks, and seaming twine and binder twine at lowest rates. FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT. Butter : Salt, good quality, 6d to 6Jd per lb ; medium, at 5d to 6d. Eggs : Can dispose of any quantity at top market rates. Cheese : Prime factory, 4d net. Onions : Victorian, L 7 10s. Pigs : 2f d to 3d per lb for good quality of . right size".
