(From our own Correspondent.) Dunedin, Wednesday Evening. The news that the Bank of England had consented to place the £5,000,000 loan, and that confidence had revived, in New Zealand securities caused much pleasure here. At the Land Board to-day the application of Wesley Turton, on behalf of J. W. Robertson and Co., for a lease to occupy jetty-site at the Head of Lake Wakatipu, was granted, subject to a sketch of the site being forwarded, and to reservation of tho road-line on the margin of the Lake. The estimate of the valuation given by the Warden at Queenstown of the fencing on the Wakatip runs was approved of; audit was dr cidetl that the sale of these runs should take place in Dunedin. The Chief Commissioner brought before the Board the question of altering the upset-price of- certain runs, and was decided that the rent of these runs should he ofltired at one half of the previous rental. The followit g certificates for n ricultural leases'wo re appr ved:—J. Rasmussen, section 122, Block 111., iShotover; Neilson, section 123, Block 111., Shotover. An application by G. Woodrow to purchase agricultural lease, section 57, Block XX., Shotover, was approved. The Annual Session of the Loyal Orange Institution was opened at the Oddfellow’s Hall, Rat tray-street, this afternoon, R.W.G.M. Bro. Revell and twenty-five delegates being present.
