EVERYBODY'S THEATRE.
Even blase Los Angeles, which is used to the eccentricities of the movie makers, had it curiosity aroused recently when a roughly dressed, unshaven individual was thrown out of the principal bank of the city on to the footpath. The big racing car at the kerb, the other cars with camera men and director, and the host of people, each seeming to know exactly what to do, were proof to the citizens that it was just another '' movie" being filmed. But Los Angeles prides itself on knowing every cin°ma star who appears on the screen. Was this unkempt-looking, one some new " phenom" breaking into the game ? Los Angeles pressed forward to learn. Then the director whispered something to the " tramp," and the latter smiled. Instantly Los Angeles knew — and wondered. "Why, it's Wallie Reid," said a sweet young thing. And sure enough it was. The smile that identified him works overtime in " Double Speed," the . Paramount-Artoraft Pioture, which caused e.ll the curiosity and Which will be shown here next Saturday night, Mr Reid is supported by a good company.— Topical and other pictures will also be shown.
