At Westfield Yards on Wednesday beef was yarded in hill quantities, most of it being of excellent quality! Prices were— iiregular although quotaticris were the same, best oxen selling to 32s per 1001b, others 29s to 30s ; cows and heifers, 2os to 29s per 1001b ; steers .'•old at from L 7 15s to L! 5 15s ; cows, L 4 10s to Ll2 ss. A draft of 30--steers from the West Coast averaged just ou L\i per h^ad, Calves were yarded in larjre numbers and sold at late rates. Extra heavy vealers sold to Lo 16p, heavy vealers Ll to Ll 18s, lighter sorts L 2 18s to L 3 12s, others 30s to L 2 10s, smaller and fresh dropped, 3s to 25s each.

The sheep pens were well filled, the quality being good. Prices were scarcely up to last week's quotatbus. Best wethers scarcely up to last week's quotations. Best wethers sold at from Ll 5s 9d to Ll 10s 9d, others Ll Is to Ll 5s 6d ; shorn wethers, ids od to Ll 3s Od ; ewes Ll 0s 3d to Ll 7s, shorn ditto 18s 9d to Ll Os 3d ; lambs, in short supply, improved in prices from 3s to 4s. Best sold at from Ll to Ll 2s Od, others 18s 6d to Ll.

Pigs were penned in less number s than usual and again sola at high values. Baconors, L 0 5s to Ll 10s ; largo porkers, L 2 10s to L 3 ; porkeis, Ll 15s to L 2 88. No slips or weaners were yarded.
