Messis Alfred Buckland and Sons report:— t A.t our weekly Westfield fat stock market on Wednesday, October 15, we penned beef to the number of 309 head, the quality of which, was firstclass. The demand was a bit irregular, and pricep like-wise/ but generally there was little alteration in values from last report. Choice ox sold to Ll lls, prime Ll 7s to Ll 9s ; cows and heifers, Ll 3s to Ll 7s ; steers ranged in price from L 8 10s to Lls ; cows and heifers, L 4 10s to LlO. A draft of 35 choice, well-finished bullocks from Messrs H. and B. Reed, Waeranga, averaged Ll3 2s 6d. Fat and young calves continue to | come forward in large numbers, and —with the exception of choice medium, suckers—prices were lower. Runners. L 4 15s to L62s ; heavy suckers L 3 10s to L 4 10s, medium L 2 5s to L 3 ss, light Ll 5s to L 2 ; small" and fresh dropped 9s to Ll Is, weedy os to 6s. (128, sold). The sheep pens were well filled with a nice class of mutton. There was only a moderate demand, and values were on a par with last week. Extra heavy prima woolly wethers Ll Bs6dto Ll 9s 9d, heavy prime Ll 5s 6d ; best shorn wethers 16s 6d to Ll 3s 9d, others 16s to 19s ; extra heavy prime woolly ewes Ll 5s to Ll 8s 6d, good Ll 2s to LI 4s, others 10s to 19s ; shorn ewes, 15s to Ll ; woolly hoggets, 10s to Ll 6s. (2073 sold).

Spring lambs penned short of re* quirements, and met with, a sharp rise of from 4s to 5s per head. Best brought Ll to Ll 2s 3d, good 16s 9d to 19s, others 14s to 16s 6d. No light lambs offered. (141 sold).

The 139 pigs yarded met with a brisk sale, and prices firmed. No choppers or heavy baconers penned ; light, L 3 10s to L 3 15s; porkers, large L 2 14s to L 3 6s, smaller L 2 to L 2 L2s. light Ll llstoLl 18s; slips, Ll to Ll 8s ; weaners, 17s 6d to i9s ; suckers, Jss 6d.
