At the meetaig of the council of the Jersey Cattle= Breeders' Association; at Palmerstou North last week, it was decided to add a new rule to tho condition of entrj for registration as follows :" The breeder of any animal must obtain registration before any transfer by him can bo recorded." It was agreed that tho secretary should attend as many of tho forthcoming spriug shows as possible, and to arrange to meet the Jocul branches where convenient.
The Secretary of Agriculture says, in his annual report : " The continued expansion of our meat trade may be judged from the fact that during the past year the number of cattle, sheep, and iambs slaughtered under inspection was 419.91_ ; this notwithstanding a temporary disorganisation of the work of slaughtering m one or two districts, on account of labor difficulties. It is pleasing to know in connection with the meat exported to the London market that, according to the New Zealand Government Veterinary Inspector iu London, the condemnations by the Home authorities have been neither large nor numerous, and that in no instanco was the inspection in New Zealand considered to be at fault."
