DATE FOR CELEBRATIONS.

Money continues to be received for the development of the Centennial Park, and at the Centennial meeting on Wednesday it was reported by the secretary, Mr. M. J. Strange, that to date £l4O 6s 5d had been received. The additional amounts were made up as follows: — Previously acknowledged .. £9O 0 0 Matron and Nurses of Te Kuiti Hospital 18 0 0 Women's Institute 18 0 0 Maniapoto Cricket Assoc. 14 6 5 Total £l4O 6 5 Easter Saturday was decided upon as the special day for Centennial celebrations in Te Kuiti. These are to be held in conjunction with the amateur sports meeting, and, it is hoped, the opening of Cetennial Park, where ploughing in preparation for a spring sowing is now in progress. The Centennial Celebration Zone Committee in Hamilton is to be advised of this fact, and asked to allocate Easter Saturday and the preceeding Wednesday, reserved for other celebrations yet undecided, so that these will not clash with neighbouring district activities.

The Zone Committee wrote advising that the Centennial Park project had been forwarded to the Central Council with a recommendation that this scheme' be approved to receive the Government subsidy.

Much of the time of the meeting end of this month. Hopes are enterments for the hard-up ball which is to be held shortly.
