OTOROHANGA SALE.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Otorohanga stock sale held on Wednesday:— Cattle.—A heavier entry than usual was comprised of a sprinkling of heavy beef cows, a good proportion of medium to good Jersey beef cows, a majority of unfinished conditioned and store Jersey cows, a number of pens of boners, and a heavy entry of bulls. Throughout, steady competition prevailed and a complete clearance was effected, with values of all classes being fully equal to, or a little better than the recent reduced levels at Frankton. Heavy fat cows made £5 10s to £6 ss; medium £4 10s to £5 10s; unfinished cows £3 10s to £4 7s 6d; good stores £2 15s to £3 7s 6d; boners £2 2s 6d to £2 12s 6d; heavy bulls £5 10s to £6 7s 6d; others up to £5. Sheep.—The market in all departments showed renewed activity. A good entry consisting mostly of store lambs and s.m. breeding ewes came forward. Bidding was brisk, and everything sold freely with a slight price movement favourable to vendors. Four and 5-year ewes 27s 6d to 295; 6-year breeding ewes 23s to 265; s.m. breeding ewes 19s ot 22s 6d; f.m. 15s to 18s 6d; ewe lambs 24s to 26s 9d; forward quality lambs 19s to 21s; good store lambs 17s 6d to 19s; others up to 15s; S.D. rams up to 6 guineas. Pigs.—ln this department lesser interest was shown. A fair entry of both porkers and stores was not particularly brisk. Medium porkers made 37s to £2 2s; light 34s to 375; good store pigs 24s to 27s 6d; medium 21s to 245; others up to 21s; slips 17s to 19s; weaners up to 15s.
