AUSTRALIAN JOURNAL
REVIEW OF THE FEBRUARY ISSUE. With so many English and American periodicals being imported into country every month, it is pleasing to see a really Australasian magazine like “The Australian Journal” not only holding its own but actually gaining ground with the reading public. The February issue of this ever-popular fiction magazine contains two enthralling serials and no less than thirteen brightly written and well illustrated short stories. Such well-known Australian writers as Margaret Fane and Hilary Lofting, Cam Woodford, Rex Grayson, Eric North, “Ladye Jane,” Louis Kaye, Frank Walford, and the popular New Zealander, H. McNeish, are featured. In addition to fiction, there are pages of features, including fashions, radio notes, cookery hints and recipes, knitting and needlework designs, paragraphs, and story, puzzle and verse competitions for junior contributors. There are two very good reasons for its popularity—the excellence of the production and the fact that the price is only sixpense! Obtainable at all newsagents.
