TE KUITI BOWLING CLUB
OTOROHANGA VISIT. The weather conditions were distinctly unfavourable last Saturday on the occasion of the return visit of the Otorohanga Club. The Midland Cup was retained by Otorohanga, the scores in the pairs games being:— Juniors: Weston and Douglas (Te Kuiti) 22, Burton and Donnison (Otorohanga) 25. Seniors: Frerichs and Holah (Te Kuiti) 18, Sing and Pratt (Otorohanga) 23. Results of the rinks games are as follows: —- Richmond, Jackson, England and Pilkington (Oto.) 25, v. Patton, Abbott, Jones and Dinsdale (TK) 15. Hunter, Bluck, Morrison and Porter (Olo.) 10, v. Baddeley, Hitchcock, Innes and McLeod (TK) 22. Willis, Langkilde, Hill and Bell (Oto.) 14, v. Hedley, Wilson, Henderson and Reid (TK) 28. Baker, Strawbridge, Whittington and Tozer (Oto.) 13, v. Powdrill, Thomas, Harris and Andrews (TK) 23. A small party of local players journeyed to Glen Massey at the week-end and spent an enjoyable game despite the unfavourable weather. The annual visit to Putaruru will be held on the 21st inst. Rinks are now being formed for the Club’s one-day tournament to be played on Saturday, March 6. A further handicap singles result was Cameron (2) beat Brabyn. Te Kuiti was represented in the annual Public Service Bowling Tournament at Hamilton last Saturday, but were successful in one game only The Club’s green is looking very well after the recent rain, and if warmer weather comes, many competition matches should be played off during the next week or two. All players in the Senior and Junior Championships and Handicap Singles are required to arrange as many matches during next week as possible. Members are reminded of the Easter tournaments at Thames and Hawera. Entries should be sent in at once.
