At the meeting of the Borough Council on Monday it was resolved to write to the Mayor, Mr. T. Carroll, stating that the Council was very pleased he was making a good recovery and wishing him a speedy return to Te Kuiti.

The funeral of the late Rev. M. J. Byrt, late Presbyterian minister at Taumarunui, was held last Saturday and was vei-y largely attended. Revs. Burton (Otorohanga), Laughton (Taupo), Mclntyre (Paterangi), McKenzie (Taumarunui), and Brabyn (Te Kuiti) took part in the service, and Revs. Moor (Kihikihi) and West (Pio Pio) were also present..
