UNIVERSITY CAPPING FESTIVITY

THE BAN LIFTED. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 11.40 a.m.) Sydney, this day. The University Senate has decided to “give the students’ representatives on the Council the opportunity of proving they can properly control all students’ activities of festival week.” This resolution lifts the ban on the students’ procession.

The students at Sydney University decided to defy the University Senate’s ban on their annual procession through the city streets, and will hold it this month. The Senate’s embargo came about six years ago when some tableaux were adjudged to be unedifying.
