WEDDING BELLS. NEELY—MATHESON. (Own Correspondent.) j A wedding that excited a great deal of local interest was celebrated at Kinohaku Hall on the 11th inst., when Vida Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Neely, of Whakaparau Valley, was married to Mr. A. G. Matheson, of Leigh, Warkworth, and son of Mr. Matheson, of Matangi. The Rev. T. H. Burton,, of Otorohanga, officiated, and over 300 relatives and friends assembled to offer felicitations to the happy pair. An exquisite arrangement of lycopodium, autumn leaves and nikau palms decorated the hall, while a large wedding bell was suspended over the bridal party. Entering to the strains of the Wedding March on the arm of her father, the bride was dressed in a white lace and silver gown with medici head-dress and flowing veil, carrying a shower bouquet of white flowers. The bridesmaid, Miss Ola Neely, wore green crinkled morocain, carrying a shower bouquet to match, while two flower girls, the Misses Green and McAuley, were attired in long pink silk frocks. Mr. Graham supported the bridegroom as best man. FolJowing the ceremony the assembly were banqueted in the hall, Mrs. Neely receiving the guests dressed in brown figured morocain with hat to match and carrying a bouquet of autumn tints. Mr. R. Tetzlaff as master of ceremonies carried the festivities and a lengthy toast list through with due precision, the “Bride and Bridegroom” being in the care of the Rev. Burton, who, after tendering homely fatherly advice to the pair, rounded off very humorously. The handsome four-tier wedding cake was the subject of much admiration as were the numerous and beautiful presents. Mr. Neely, on behalf of Mrs. Neely and family, offered his warmest thanks to those many industrious helpers who had so willingly assisted with the arrangements. Mr. and Mrs. Matheson left by car on their honeymoon, the rear of the vehicle being well furnished in the style traditional to such occasions. They will reside at Leigh, North Auckland.
