' Half a Million Miles In Ford VB's In 18 Months: You will be pleased to know that our fleet of 12 Ford V 8 Sedans has covered over half a million miles In the past 18 months.- 510,000 miles and we have never seen the Inside of a V 8 Differential, gear box- or clutch, nor have eight of these cars had the heads off at any time". Two or them have done over 70,000 and one has been rebored. We expect the fleet to ' cover hair a million miles annually. The VB's have.provf ; economical In petrol, oil. tyres and repairs* here are the particulars. ' Petrol ConsumptlonTVrhe average of all cars works out at 19.39 miles per gallon. We reckon this a wonderful performance more - - —— especially as the cars average two stops and starts fop every mile they run. i 011 is regularly changed every 1,000 miles and no oil ' Is ever added between changes. These give upwards of 30,000 miles and we have cases of ) tyres reaching 40,000 miles without punctures and without ever being removed from the rims or wheels changed' round. We put this long mileage down to the Ford ' springing system with Its low unsprung weight. Apart from ordinary maintenance, greasing, adjustments, punctures, etc., repair expenses have been very light In spite of the terrific hammering these cars get in the cab business.
