THE STATE THEATRE
"NIGHT LIFE OF THE GODS." To-night and Monday night will be shown a screen version of Thorne Smith's amazing novel, "Night Life of the Gods." One of the strangest disappearances ever recorded by the police takes place in this picture. Some of the world's most famous statues, such as Venus, Apollo, Diana, Neptune, Bacchus, Hebe, Perseus and Mercury, suddenly disappear from the museum overnight and authorities are baffled. If they could only have know that these statues miraculously came to life and were disporting themselves on Broadway, they would have been even more astounded.. A great cast with\ twenty-three featured players and hordes of supporting actors and actresses, makes this one of the really outstanding pictures of the year. THE EMPRESS. To-night at the Empress Theatre "The Chinatown Squadron" will be repeated as the first unit of a double feature programme. If you like thrills and excitement do'n't miss this picture. The second unit, "The Daring YoungMan," is a laughter provoking picture in which a young man went to gaol earn a honeymoon.
