LABOUR CAMPAIGN

MR. JONES AT ARAPAE. The official Labour candidate for Waitomo at the forthcoming election, Mr. J. Jones, addressed a well attended meeting at. Arapae on Saturday last. He dealt extensively with matters concerning Labour's policy, particularly in regard to recent legislation affecting the farming community. A feature of his address was his opposition to the Government on the lines of its policy in protecting the financial interests by introducing orivate shareholder capital into the Reserve Bank and the Mortgage Corporation. Another noticeable feature of his iddress was the absence of abuse of the opposing party. Mr. Jones was accorded a .hearty vote of thanks, special reference being made commendng his eulogistic comments concerning the manner in which Mr. Broadfoot, M.P., had always given attention to matters which had been brought to his notice in the interests of the farming community.
