The engagement is announced of Mona Inez, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Tarrant, of Pio Pio, to Austin Charles, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Tibbets, of Auckland. Mr. J. J. McLeod, local manager of the Union Bank of Australia, has received word of his promotion as manager of the Blenheim branch. Mr. McLeod, who has been six years in Te Kuiti, will leave for Blenheim about the end of the year. Other changes in the Union Bank are those of Mr. F. W. R. Raymond, who has been manager of the Te Puke branch for the past six years, who has received notice of his transfer to the position of manager of the Dannevirke branch of the bank. Mr. D. G. McCallum, of Te Awamutu, will succeed Mr. Raymond as manager at Te Puke.
