MAHOENUI

The Mahoenui Basket Ball dance held last Friday was a decided success. Each part was rendered in a perfectly capable manner, and judging by the enthusiastic reception from the large, audience the play was much appreciated. At the conclusion of the play supper was served and the hall cleared for dancing. A working bee recently made several improvements to the Public Hall. Quite a number of new movable seats were made, also a collapsible stage which when finished with can be swung back to rest against the wall, thus not taking up any of the dancing space. Personal. Miss Tate, of Waitara, is the guest of Mrs. A. Old. Miss J. McKenzie has returned after spending three weeks’ holiday in Wellington. Messrs. L. G. Purdie, A. C. Moir and R. Old have left on a motor tour of Dannevirke and surrounding districts. Mr. W. Gellatly leaves to-day to spend several days with his parents at Kilbirnie, Wellington.
