WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

MANGAOKEWA BRANCH. The Mangaokewa Women's Institute held its May meeting at the residence of Mrs. Dickenson. The meeting opened with the Institute Creed. Four new members were welcomed. The roll call was "Children's Funny Sayings." The points competition for the best article made from a sugar bag was won by Mrs. Powdnll and Mrs. Dickenson a draw, Mrs. Whitehouse being third. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Dickenson and Mrs. Cathie. The Institute also held a very enjoyable card and ping pong evening at the residence of Mrs. Powdrill. The card prizes were won by Mrs. Cathie and Mr. N. Taylor, and the ping pong by Mr. A. Powdrill. Guessing the rooster's name was won by Mrs. A. Powdrill.
