,A request for financial support with a view to carrying on further research work in connection with dopy or sleepy sickness in ewes was contained in a letter from the Canterbury Agricultural College received by the Canterbury Sheep Owners' Union recently. It was asked that the various Canterbury A. and P. Associations, the Sheep Owners' Union and other farming organisations should make up between them the sum of £IOO with a view to meeting their share of the estimated cost of further research. The sum of £5 was voted by the union.
