To each pound of green gooseberries allow one cup of cold water and sugar. Boil the fruit and water then add sugar, and test in saucer to see if it is jellied and cooked. GOOSEBERRY AND PINEAPPLE. Three lbs. gooseberries, 51bs. sugar, one in pineapple. Stew the gooseberries with two large cups of water and the juice of the pineapple. Add the sugar and the finely chopped pineapple. Boil about two hours. GOOSEBERRY AND STRAWBERRY. Six lbs. gooseberries, 41bs. strawberries, lOlbs. sugar. Boil the gooseberries with 1 pint of water and the sugar for half an hour gently, and be careful not to burn it.
