— NO BAIL ALLOWED SUSPECTS. CASE TO BE HEARD ON JANUARY 7. Again yesterday morning the Police Court at Auckland was packed to the doors when David Mackenzie Stewart, alias Stoner (28), an American, and Patrick Kitching, alias Newman, an AVstralian, aged 26, made another ap- : pearanoe before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., on charges of false pretences and, armed with an automatic pistol and Colt revolver, they did rob Samuel Henderson.

The suspects, arrested in connection with the sensational affair at Westfield on the morning of November 26 last, were again, remanded. Chief Detective Hammond said that further serious changes would be brought and that the preliminary trial would be held on January 7. Mr Cocker appeared for Kitching and Mr Bouisson for Stewart. Bail was not asked for.
