TEST OF FAITH.

EX-KAISER'S VIEWS. SAYS THE ALMIGHTY IS TESTING HIM. London, December 10. "God has dethroned me to lest my faith in Him, to see whether itwill be shattered'by my misfortune. If I remain steadfast, and He so wills it, I shall be recalled. If not, I shall die here in exile at Doom." —The ex-Kaiser. This statement, made in an interview with the ex-Kaiser, at Doom, Holland, was published in Berlin quits recently. "Germany," he stated,-"lost the war because of her disobedience to God and her failure to recognise a solemn duty." This duty was to fight to the bitter end, till the last man had fallen, and till the last ounce of powder had been spent. . "If she had have remained true to God, Germany would have held out." His fate as an exile, scorned and friendless, was, he thought, a visitation from the Almighty on account cf his failure, to bring home to his subjects the Divine mission. Carried away by his own eloquence, the ex-Kaiser rose at this point and exclaimed: "Would that I were Kaiser 30 years ago." "Perhaps," he added, "I am destined to render greater service to mankind as the Kaiser that was than the Kaiser that is." ' "I would have the world know that I am at peace with God, and that the burden that oppresses me is not my personal misfortune but that of my country.' •;.
