Through their respective guardians, in the Arbitration Court to,-day, seven children, the offspring of four differJptent ■women, claimed the sum of £93G ‘x compensation in respect of the oeath of their father, Pene Cassidy, a bushfeller, who was accidentally killed at Maropiu (near Dargaville) by a falling tree. , Tile defendant was David Berghan, a contractor of Kaihu. The deceased was only in his late thirties at the time of his death. Judgement was given for the amount paid into Court, £BB4, and costs £IOO. An order was made for the money to be paid to the Public Trustee, with whom counsel is to confer, to have the degree of dependency assessed,
