ROADING WORK.

IN WABTOIWO COUNTY. That the general opinion that there is a lack cf activity in road, work in the district is somewhat contrary to fact, is borne out by the amount of work at present being carried out under the direction of the Waitomo County Council. The following figures are interesting: Within a radius of ten miles of Te Kuiti road work to the amount of'£7ooo is being- done, and outside that radius, work to the value of a further £7OOO is in hand, A large proportion of this amount of £14,000 is Government subsidy. The amount does not include; the value of pipes used in roading, the value of which in ~ the present works is in the vicinity of £IOOO.
