ARIA. (Own Correspondent.) Recently Aria held its annual sports on the Domain. Contrary to the experience of the previous year, the weather favoured the Club and there was a good attendance. The entries for most of the events were good, as was also the competition. The gate was considerably improved and the profits shown by the refreshment booth were highly' pleasing; this latter is due wholly to the energy and zeal of the local ladies who are never found wanting in such a matter . The officials put in a lot of time, and on sports day jumped into their .work; conspicuous among those were the chairman of the Club, the Rev. G. Palmer, the hon. secretary, Mr T. Rose, junr., and Messrs E. Tolme, J. O’Sullivan, McGrath, Sheehan, Svenson, and W. Nortlicote. The Wairere Power Board had an exhibition on tlie grounds showing] to wliait uses the local electricity, generated at Wairere Falls, was being put to. It boiled all the water required for the refreshment booth, experts did all sorts of cooking, to say nothing of the various forms of heating. In the evening a dance was held in the hall. It was well attended and thoroughly . enjoyed by all. Mr B. Christian supplied the music. Prize list of sports:— Maiden 100 Yards: J. Rooney 1, J Leith 2 Open 100 Yards: A. Watson 1, T.
