OBITUARY

TOMMY MAN A WAITE. The death occurred in a private hospital in Te Kuiti on Saturday of Mr T. (Tommy) Manawaite, of Pio Pio, at the age of 30 years. Mr Manawaite, who was the son of Chief Manawaite Taulion who died recently, was well known in this district and was regarded as a farmer of the best type. He w ; as a prominent footballer for many years until about two years, when lie received an injury, the results of which are believed to have caused his death. He underwent an operation last week from which lie did not recover. He is survived by a widow ami two children. A tangi in honour of the deceased is being held at the Maniapoto Pa.
