ACCIDENT ON THE AWAKINO ROAD.

MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. COLLIDES WITH CAR. An accident occurred on the Awakino Road about half a mile from Te Kuiti this morning, in which a motor cyclist named Alex J. Dunn collided with a motor car and sustained a compound fracture of the right leg just above the ankle. He was removed to Burnside Hospital and attended to by a local doctor. Another cyclist travelling with Dunn stated that the injured man was on the wrong side of the road. When he met the car on a corner the running board struck him on the leg, inflicting the injuries described. The motor cycle was slightly damaged. Mr Dunn will probably be able to leave for his home at Takuvangi, Auckland, to-morrow morning. He was bound for New Plymouth when the accident took place.
