HOLIDAY DROWNING ACCIDENTS.

Search wan made in various parts of the ditsriet, and their bodies were Mind on Sunday evening in Dunsdale stream, near Hedge-hope. Gordon Martin (20) while bathing in Oreii River at Dipfton on Sunday, was drowned; He dived into a lioJo fourteen feet deep, and failed to eamo Lo the surface. When the body was recovered, life was extinct. The cause of deatli was heart failure. Dunedin. Sunday. Advice has been received from Js Taseby that Mr Joseph Allan, aged 71. was drowned in the Kyeburn River on bVitlny. Hehva's returning with Mr \V. lion re from the Waipiata sy.o.ts, when the gig capsized in Ihe river. Mi 11oare held lo the reins ami was dragged lo safely. Mr Allan's licdy has not yet been recovered. Mr K. A. Matthewson, sha'rj'j .nkor. or Dunedin. was drowned vliilo Mirfbatiling at Warrington uhi* morning. The police have been advised that Stanley Downes. aged 18. of Balelutlia. Wins drowned while surf -bathing at Port Molyneux on Sunday. Whangarei, Monday. A ten-year-old girl. Daphne May Jurakovich. slipped into a deep water bole in a creek bed near Marsdeu Point on Saturday afternoon, and, being un ; able to swim, was drowned. An attempted rescue by a girl companion failed.
