SOUTH AFRICAN DIAMOND RUSH.

A MUSHROOM TOWN. RUSH SETTING IN. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) Cape Towm, December 1. Much interest has been aroused by the discovery of rich diomondiferous deposits in the valley of the Mooi River, near Potchefestroom, in the Transvaal. Hundreds of prospectors are at work on a farm which was only proclaimed a mining area a fortnight ago. It is now a township with 1000 inhabitants. The farm homesteads and cattle kraals are hemmed in by claims, on which digging is feverishly proceeding. Cafes, garages, shops, and stores have already sprung up, and a rush is setting in.
